Council Chair Embarks On Imota Infrastructural Renewal With Culverts, Block Toilets Projects

Multiple culverts and a block of toilets being constructed by Hon. Sunday Benson, Chairman, Imota LCDA at different strategic locations.

The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has begun the construction of culverts at various strategic locations and a block of toilets at Methodist Primary School, Imota.

According to the chairman’s media aide, the initiative is part of his administration’s infrastructure development project aimed at improving the canal waterways and addressing flooding challenges during the rainy season.

Strategic locations where culverts are being constructed in Imota are Ayedelege Street, Besides asphalt yard, Infront of Primary Healthcare Centre at Atere and Lolo Estate.

“The ongoing construction underscores the administration’s commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and fostering community growth. This initiative is a direct response to a community needs assessment tour conducted by the Benson-led administration, which underscores areas requiring urgent government attention.

“The construction is currently taking place in several locations, including Ayedelege Street, in front of the Primary Healthcare Centre at Atere, beside the asphalt yard, in Lolo Estate, and at the toilet of Methodist Primary School, Imota. This work aligns with the campaign promises and the “Hi-SEE” Transformation Agenda”,the chairman’s media aide said in the statement.

Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele emphasized that the primary goal of this project is to provide relief to the residents of Imota LCDA, and to improve the overall quality of life for the community.

He urged the residents to support the ongoing project and tasked the supervising engineer, Chief Akeju Olugbenga, with ensuring that high standards are maintained and that the project is completed on time to mitigate the potential environmental challenges.

The chairman also noted that this construction marks a significant milestone in his administration’s commitment to developing Imota LCDA. “Upon completion, the project is expected to enhance connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life for residents”.

He encouraged the community to uphold the values of environmental sanitation and protection by properly disposing waste.

Mr Akeju Olugbenga, the assistant council engineer, who doubles as the supervising engineer of the project, confirmed that construction is progressing as scheduled, with a focus on delivering durable and high-quality job.

He also advised the residents to desist from any action that could undermine the local government’s efforts to ensure a safe abode for everyone in the community.
